It’s that time of year again. Where we look at the 12 months ahead and wonder… what is in store? With all the negative press, the price of oil and the sense of the unknown 2016 will be an interesting year to be in business. This is a different feel than 2008/2009. In Grande Prairie we rely on the oilpatch to keep our city working… but that is not all we rely on. In relation to other communities ours is strong, not only do we have other industries but we have a close proximity to northern BC and all their large projects as well our oilfield businesses know how to make money when natural gas is low… this is not something new to our region.
So it really comes back to us, as small businesses, focusing on our businesses, how we can be more profitable, save more, spend less.
If you know me, you know that I am fairly frugal. While that doesn’t always equate to cheap… it sometimes can. I have spent 15 + years NOT spending, trying to find efficiency through leveraging technology and more. Over time I share some of those tips with other friends and they to have felt the fun that is frugality.
Having met a few more like minded people we decided to host an event where we can pass on some of these tips to more business owners and managers. Our business thrives when the local business economy is healthy, and financial health is one way we will all survive the next 12-24 months!
Its not just saving though… you still need to invest in marketing and advertising so how can you decide if you need an online presence or should you sponsor that event? We can help!
